Rietveld-Schröder House, Utrecht
I invited Philothée Gaymard to live in the Rietveld-Schröder House in Utrecht for a few days. She became the new inhabitant of the house. Nobody had lived in the house after Truus Schröder and it was turned into a museum.
The book titled philothée gaymard inhabitant of the rietveld-schröder house was published by Onestar Press in 2018, in which Philothée had written a series of thumbnails relative to her life in Berlin, her travel to Utrecht, her stay in the house, her relation with the public visiting it.
An inhabitant is an art format, like the house or the exhibition. He or she travels between them, he or she is a go-between, a messenger. The inhabitant acts as a transient marker for those physical spaces.
